I have had similar issues where things that used to work simply stopped working. Sometimes it is my poor coding skills, other times it is something I just cant figure out.
Have you considered a Compact and Repair? Additionally, and I would highly recommend this, have you done a Decompile?

It was solved a few issues in the past. Not sure if it will work for you but it is an effective maintenance tool. Once a year, I will for a C&R followed my a Decompile and redeploy the FE.
Give it a try...but as always MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR APPLICATION FIRST!
