Thanks Duane,
I have a portal here that essentially copies the accde file out to the user's H: drive and runs the database from there. My standard is to have the split db's.
It's a non-essential piece of information, really.
The real deal is that Access with this Outlook doesn't work when I split the database. Whether I have it on a portal or not.
Sorry I confused the issue.
Respectfully,

Hi Liz,
Can you explain "on our portal"? Access behaves well on networks and some other environments but is worthless in others. I would not expect Access to perform well (if at all) with the back-end on OneDrive or as a file in SharePoint.
There are some possible solutions that involve SQL server in the cloud etc but my knowledge of those is Null.
Regards,
Duane

Pros, I've inherited a contacts database which someone built from a template, so of course there is a lot of managed code.
I was instructed to put it out on our portal, so I split the front end from the back, and put the front end at the portal. The "add from outlook" functionality quit, so I rejoined it. The user base wants this to be multi-user, but when someone is in, they get errors saying that there is already someone in and they don't have access to do anything.
Does anyone have any experience and/or knowledge with this type of database?
Respectfully,
