My advice... forget DSNs, use DSN-less Connection strings. You can use a DSN in your local development environment but then convert the coeections to DSN-less before deployment.
With DSN-less connections, if anything changes in the location of your back-emd database, you only need to change one thing, the Front-End and nothing on the client Machines other than the new version of the front-end.
