It sounds like you need to dynamically build a filter in code and then use that filter to check if it returns records, and then use it again if there are records to open the edit form. You can find lots of examples of how to do that in my sample databases on my website.

I have a screen called frmHohSearch

to pop a msg box listing the multiple values and probably a
way to select the record they want to edit.
If a record was not found I need to open
the form frmHoHdetails in add mode.
