Re: [MS_AccessPros] Editing a Report from the Report Maker

Thanks John,

I gave up and made a report without the report maker!

Hard to guess without seeing your report.  Try selecting other controls (labels, text boxes, etc.), and if Remove Layout becomes available again, click it.

I assume you're looking at your report in Design view and not Layout view.

Thanks John,

I have selected a control and the empty cell, clicked on "Remove Layout" without any change.  !!

What have I missed?

Which version of Access are you using?

Perhaps you have not selected one of the controls in the group?

My earlier message was too confident. I found the previous advice from April 2105:

>You have to select one of the controls in the layout first, then click the Arrange tab.  On the far left is the AutoFormat group.  Next is the Control Layout group, and the button >you want is third from the l eft - Tabular / Stacked / Remove.  Click Remove.

That worked in 2015 but today nothing happens. What Have I missed?

I have generated a report with the fields that I need. The Report
maker has empty cells that prevent me from moving the data cells.
There is also a dotted are around the fields. How do I delete the
empty cells and remove that dot ted line?

Many thanks,

Robin Chapple
