I have maybe the same issue. But I know how to quickly fix it. I have code that emails reports through outlook in the databases. When I open the databases in a new version, I get weird messages related mostly to dates. So I go in and fix the reference to the outlook version that is currently on the machine. I do not want to change the binding because of the drawbacks. Once I fix the reference, all works great. I am trying to get IT to convert everyone at the same time to the new 2013 version. But they are busy and it seems to be one at a time.

John, I admit I am intrigued! So what does your FixBroken utility do?

The short answer is yes, later versions of Access add controls that are unrecognized by 2007. All you have to do is open one form or report in Design view, then you're toast for going back. (You don't have to make changes or save.)
You can try my FixBroken utility in the Files section, but it's not guaranteed to work for databases modified in 2016. It was originally built to deal with 2010.

I haven't made any design c! hanges since upgrading the desktop. Does just
opening the database in Access 2016 make changes to the database so that
it is incompatible with Access 2007?
Any workarounds or fixes for my problem?
