Robin,
Reports allow you to create groups with both headers and footers. Typically you are grouping on field values in order to organize your data display.
You can also group on expressions (remember the birthday report?). If you group on a constant expression like:
=1
The entire report will render in this single group as long as this is set as your top level grouping. If you include a footer on this group, it will display after the final record in the report. Use this group footer for your record count.
