good morning to all,
I have a question.
I have an VBA procedure inside an access database that take quite long time to be performed that update some articles information in our main database using ODBC driver.
I can run this procedure using a batch file that start every morning.
The tool is working in good way but I would like to have the possibility for the user to interact with his own local computer fulfilling some data before to run the procedure .
I do not want to give remote access to this computer as well as I do not want that the operator run this procedure locally engaging his computer for long time.
The idea is to create client database connected with "Server" with some table to fulfil data
The question are:
How can I run access tool using a string locally that start access remotely
In order to advice the operator that the procedure ended in correct way I was thinking that at the end, the procedure fulfil a connected "client" local table connected with a mask that the operator can see in his client
For point (a) I need a suggestion,
looking on internet I see that is possible with powershell or with a software dedicated PSExcec
I did some test with no success somebody can help me or giving some good website where looking?
The other question (b) is how advice the operator that procedure completed, but I think that this is possible with a mask with inside the connected table that is refreshing on regular bases
