The reasons I consider migrating to ms access are:
1.I have so many tables. It might get slower and slower.
2.If one table got corrupted, the whole database can't be open
3.Sql server has backup tool.
By the way, is sql server express works the same as standard version except of the size limitation? Thanks.

MySQL is a bit simpler, and some versions are free, but you'll need a third-party ODBC interface. SQL Server is also a Microsoft product, so Access comes with the link support built-in for free.
But why do you think migrating your back end will help? How many concurrent users do you have? Is your application well-designed for client-server? You should read BuildingAccessAppsCH03.pdf that you can find on our website in Files / Articles_Excerpts.
