before you do what Duane suggested and reset the RowSource, you may
need to refresh the tabledefs

currentdb.tabledefs.refresh 'refresh tables with record changes from all
processes and users
DoEvents 'do it now

and if you change the RowSource from code that is not behind the form,
you may need another DoEvents
