Thanks. I tried that, and it didn't work. Mine was one of the early copies of Office 2013 - the one where Microsoft made a complete £$%^&* if activation, requiring an individual email address for each PC. Luckily we remembered the address!

I'm assuming that happens for all databases. If it were just one I'd say there is a hidden USysRibbon table that is controlling how it behaves.

Something must have altered the default actions on the Ribbon. I'd run a Repair on Office from the Control Panel. That should fix it.

Once you open a database the default should be Home. When you first open Access before choosing a database file to open the default should be the File tab. Is that what you see?

Hi

on on of my PCs the default Ribbon Tab is File - on the extreme left.
On all the others it's Home.
How can I change it back please.
