You should include as much of the previous thread as required to provide sufficient background to your questions/replies.
I'm not sure I agree with "the tables are normalized". If each field is currently an interview question, then I would consider making each question a record in a table. I can't imagine the problems/work created by storing each question in a new field. There is a sample survey application at http://www.rogersaccesslibrary.com/forum/at-your-survey_topic3.html which demonstrates a normalized table structure that might fit your requirements.
I assume when you are asking "What's the text field limit on reports?" you actually need to know the maximum number of controls and sections on a report which is 754. Again the maximum fields in a query is 255.

Personal disclaimer, I'm working with someone esle's database, or, rather, mentoring him, rather than doing the design myself. He did break up the tables. They're linked together with an InterviewID field (auto in first table, long integer in the others). If it were mine, or if he were paying me more, I'd completely redesign it, but it's his and his time. Still, I think the tables are normalized.
The need is that this is a customer interview/audit. There are that many questions. I'm not sure how many of the fields are required for the output, and how many are just used to navigate through the interview (I'm not getting paid enough to delve that deeply). For now, let's assume that they're all needed.
I guess I'll have him break up the query into two or more, with no more than 255 fields (is that my limiter?). I haven't run into a limit on the report yet. However, I'm not creating that. I just created a few template fields. He gets to do the work of copying and manipulating them to complete the report. What's the text field limit on reports?
