What about setting the value in the section's format event, or the report's Open event.

No it will not, you may test it. Build an unbound richtext box and place on a form or report. On the load event set the value of the control through code. This will print fine. Now use this exact same form/report as as subform/subreport. it will not print.

I forgot to mention that my subforms or subreports are unbound. I was so focused on the Rich Text did not think the issue had to do with being unbound. So I believe I can change the textboxes to labels or set the control source of the textboxes instead of the value. Either solution should work.On Thu, Mar 27, 2014 at 12:18 PM, <wrmosca@comcast.net> wrote:Peter
I just tested and mine printed out with the formatting. I used some words in bold, some in italic and some underlined. They all came out right in the printed report. I checked and the text box on the form is set to rich text as it is in the table design.Could it be your printer? Maybe you need to update the printer driver?Bill

So my question is, is this just a limitation or can there be some workaround or property settings? Is anyone capable of printing a formatted rich text box from a subreport/subform? It will show correctly in printview but does not export or print properly. Thanks. On Wed, Mar 26, 2014 at 4:19 PM, <wrmosca@comcast.net> wrote:Peter
Which version of Access are you using? Maybe someone can test this for you. Also, do you have the latest Windows/Office updates?-Bill

They don't always come out right. Create a report with a sub report and print that instead. The RichText should print correctly provided you print as an Access report or PDF.

If the form is run as main form it renders correctly and will print correctly. If I embed it as a subform it renders correctly but will not print. Although the shading is still visible, the font is not. Certain other formatting is lost. I have tried saving as PDF or exporting in multiple formats. The results are the same as printing. I assume it has something to do with how the form renders prior to printing. Anyone experience this or know of a workaround? The subform is rather complex so redesign is not a good option. I actually tested this on very simple forms and got the same results, so this may just be an Access limitation. The solution cannot be done without RT since there are multiple formats within the same textbox.
