I use a program called pdftk.exe  I create a bat file with the necessary commands and then shell to the bat file.  pdftk is a very feature rich command line program for all sorts of PDF manipulations.  And it is free!

If it crashes on the createobject("acroexch") business, then it's because registry keys need to be set which comes from the professional edition of adobe acrobat.

BTW, I tried to open the Goldmine pdf and I couldn't open it.  Can anyone else open it?  I'd like to learn more about Access and pdfs.
