[MS_AccessPros] Re: Customer Display

Hi Ahmed,

I used two methods to achieve what you are trying to do. At first I also had an external programm to talk to the Customer Display but I was unhappy with the solution probably for similar reasons to yours.

One method was that the supplier I was using had developed a primitive printer driver and using that I could "print" the information and messages to the display. One example is the Epson POS Printers and terminals, the Displays can be "daisy-chained" to the printers and with the correct "escape" codes tothe printer, the information lands on the Display instead of the printer.

The second method was going directly to the Windows API calls for the serial communications.

Neither was perfect from my point of view (for the time I could spend on them) but, a whole lot better than the old, external, helper programm.

Yours,
Andrew
