Re: [MS_AccessPros] Cannot add new records on continuous sub form

John / Duane,

Sorry for replying late because i have gone through a problem and was not getting any solution by my own.
The problem was that my PCTL.accdb became corrupt, many times while typing the code when i pressed DOT key it got an error and access went to restarting and creating Backup file. I have no knowledge why it happened again and again now.

I was working on Duane's suggestion to make a new main form and add subform to it, i did that and checked New (Blank) Record button was enable, but as i have shifted some controls up and down, while going to save it was not saving, again and again Save-No-Cancel message appeared even if i clicked on Save.

I hope the problem will be resolved with Duane's suggestion. Now my question is as PCTL.accdb has been corrupt can i delete PCTL.accdb and rename PCTL_Backup.accdb to PCTL.accdb, and will it work as PCTL.accdb.

If i open backup file it works.

Regards,
Khalid

Khalid-

If I remember correctly from previous discussions, table GD-I does not have a Primary Key.  That's the problem.

Hi John,

I am having problem in adding new record on a continuous sub form. I have changed design of form "GDI" and its sub form "GDIsubform".

Main form "GDI" has only one Unbound Combo Box "ConsiignmentNo" having Row Source:
SELECT DISTINCT [Consignment Number].ConsignmentNo
FROM [Consignment Number]
ORDER BY [Consignment Number].ConsignmentNo DESC;

Record Source of  "GDIsubform" is table "GD-1". On Property Sheet of Sub form "GDIsubform" the settings are:
Data Entry-->No
Allow Additions-->Yes
Allow Deletions-->Yes
Allow Edits-->Yes
Allow Filters-->Yes
Record Locks-->No Locks

Link Master Fields-->ConsignmentNo
Link Child Fields-->ConsignmentNo

I often have this problem while creating new forms or changing design of forms.

Help needed please.

Regards,
Khalid
