Re: [MS_AccessPros] Cannot add new records on continuous sub form

Is GD-I a linked SQL Server table? I didn't think an Access table was required to have a primary key (although it should be required). I suppose I could test this quite easily when I have a minute or two.

Khalid-

If I remember correctly from previous discussions, table GD-I does not have a Primary Key.  That's the problem.

Hi John,

I am having problem in adding new record on a continuous sub form. I have changed design of form "GDI" and its sub form "GDIsubform".

Main form "GDI" has only one Unbound Combo Box "ConsiignmentNo" having Row Source:
SELECT DISTINCT [Consignment Number].ConsignmentNo
FROM [Consignment Number]
ORDER BY [Consignment Number].ConsignmentNo DESC;

Record Source of  "GDIsubform" is table "GD-1". On Property Sheet of Sub form "GDIsubform" the settings are:
Data Entry-->No
Allow Additions-->Yes
Allow Deletions-->Yes
Allow Edits-->Yes
Allow Filters-->Yes
Record Locks-->No Locks

Link Master Fields-->ConsignmentNo
Link Child Fields-->ConsignmentNo

I often have this problem while creating new forms or changing design of forms.

Help needed please.

Regards,
Khalid
