RE: [MS_AccessPros] Re: general date format

Bill, I think you got another MS Access bug you can report.  I used the very same fields, went into form design, select fields, added those fields, went into datasheet view, and the new fields show time and the old fields don't.

I'll swap them out.  I think it locked on to some short time value as a previous value or something.

Problem solved.  Thanks.

Of course, and that is funny.  I can view it in datasheet view and it is the same – date only – no time.  I was in a meeting so am ready to try my experiment.

Liz

Have you tried widening the control to see if the time is just hidden?

Hi Bill,  It just shows the date.  I checked the table and there wasn't a format on it.  I don't like to set things at that level – rather at the form level for flexibility.  I'm going to try a couple of things.  1.  Add the fields to the form again, and 2. If that doesn't work, I'll try new fields.

Access doesn't show a time if it's midnight (00:00 the default for any given date).

  1. Are you saying that times other than midnight are not showing?
  2. Does the field in the table have a format on it?

Pros, I recently changed a form format from short time to general date and it is not showing me the time.

What am I doing wrong?  What simple thing have I possibly missed?
