Thanks for the confirmation. I wondered whether IIf would work or not. To answer your question, Text293 is a text box. That's why I had the term "check box" in quotes, since it's not something that the users generating these reports will be using. All I wanted was just a simple box that the end workers could hand-mark (since they don't have computers of their own), and a didn't think the standard-size checkbox in Access would be big enough. I just tried putting in a checkbox on the report to see how the preview would look, and I think it could work. I think I'll try both methods (text box and check box) and see which one the end users like better.
