Re: [MSAccessProfessionals] How to secure Front End

Hi Khalid,

The BE (backend) is only the tables. Once your client has a copy of the BE you should not have to give him anything other than the FE (frontend). Providing a compile version of the FE (accde) will allow your client to use your application but not view the design of forms, reports, or modules. This should provide enough security. If not, Access might not be the best tool for you.

Regards,
Duane

Hi Duane, I have only one question. I give to my client .accde
1) Is it must to give him FE or BE, or only .accde will work on his computer.
Looks a silly question but i am up to now not clear on this point. From the very beginning when i started working on access since 2008 and then joined this group, i used to give Be and mde or accde to my clients.
I have been told by seniors in this group to give FE & .accde, i want to know if i give FE to my client, then how i will protect it. I need that he has no access to view or open any thing from Navigation panel and my code is secure. He may only open the application from the short cut on desktop for .accde further more will i have to keep my own FE separate with me and make another copy of FE for my client, which is protected.

Thanks, Khalid
