Re: [MSAccessProfessionals] Access 2007 to Access 2019

hi Khalid,

great! You're welcome. As you can see, switching all API calls to run in either environment only takes a few lines, but it isn't easy! That's why running Office in 32-bit, for now, is a good idea -- unless you specifically need 64-bit capabilities like bigger numbers and bigger spreadsheets.

PREVIOUS MESSAGES:

Thanks Crystal,
Your code did worked, and as per your advise i will uninstall office 2019, 64 bit, and re-install office 2019, 32 bit.
And what is the link for your website?
Thanks again both Duane and Crystal.
Khalid

[Duane, re: not sure what you "could not find" -- probably what to click to keep previous messages -- in the web interface, I couldn't find it either! If you send me a screen shot, I'll put it on my site and link to it for others to see. I saw your post about it -- picture is worth a thousand words ;) Like you, I'm using an email client locally, so don't normally have that issue)

hi Khalid,

since you've already installed 64-bit, perhaps you want to:

1. find the 32-bit installation file

2. uninstall 64-bit Office

3. reboot

4. install 32-bit Office

meanwhile, here is code that works in 32 or 64-bit to get the computer name:

kind regards.

Thanks again Duane, i looked there but could not find it. By the way i need your suggestion, which version of office you personal recommend me, so that i work smoothly.
Your advise would be much valuable for me.
Thanks Khalid

Please reply keeping much of the previous thread so we know the context and background of your messages. You need to look for every line of code using 32 bit APIs and modify them as the link in my earlier reply suggested.

I would stay with 32 bit versions of MS Access.

In our previous group that was easy to click at the bottom "previous messages" but here could not find any such button, so i just copied 2 of the above.
Duane, you are suggesting that you would stay with 32 bit bit versions of access, i like to know i can also do that even my system is 64 bit ?
Thanks, Khalid
