I've been running Access 2003 and Access 2010 on the same Windows 7 Enterprise OS for close to two years now. I primarily use Access 2003 and only use 2010 once in a while. When I switch from one to the other, it acts like it is installing the versions I'm attempting to switch to. Every once in awhile, a forced upgrade to software by my IT department will cause my 2003 to lose certain built in functions (Date is usually one of them, along with various objects not being recognized).
When this occurs, I take a copy of 2003 MSACC.OLB and replace 2010 version with it (renaming the original to MSACC.OLD.OLB first). It has fixed the issues each time. Not sure it'll work for others, but it has worked for me.
