Re: [MS_AccessPros] Microsoft Office Access 2003 Inside Out

John,

Looks like you have switched from VMware Fusion to Parallels now, so I have
some questions if you don't mind:

1. Which Mac are you running? At one point you had a MacBook Pro but may
have changed.

2. How much total RAM do you have, and how much is allocated to Parallels?

3. Which Mac OS do you have?

I ask all of this because I'm looking to upgrade my Mac, perhaps this year.
It's an early-2011 MBP running El Capitan with 16 GB RAM with 2 GB
allocated to Parallels 11 with Windows 10. A new SSD makes it pretty zippy
for hardware that's five years old. I use only Access 2010, and my largest
database is about 1.7 million records and 1.2 GB. I seem to be able to work
with that OK but am concerned about the overall age of the hardware even
though it's been extremely reliable and solid to this point.

If you have any recommendations, especially memory allocation, I'd sure be
interested.

Thanks!!

James
