Re: [MS_AccessPros] Change table names

Bill-

Simply renaming the table in the front end will not work.  The internal link properties will still point to the old table name.  However, renaming the table if you have Name Autocorrect turned on, *might* fix the table name in queries.  It might also corrupt your front end database.

I would make a backup of the front end, turn on Autocorrect, rename the linked table, turn off Autocorrect, then delete and relink the new table name.

Good luck!

During my slow time of the Year I am cleaning up some of my  Table, Query and Form names.   I have been through a series of naming conventions and it is a mess.
I have all the forms fixed and about 90% if the queries done.   I have a split database so I am concerned that is I rename the table in the BE it will not connect properly.   I change the name of one in the FE but I do not think that changed the BE.

What is the proper process to change table name and not make a mess.
