Well, that manages to send a Hyperlink, but the database would have to be developed in 2010 or 2013 and loaded to a SharePoint site to enable access from a smartphone.

click on the INSERT ribbon
choose HYPERLINK from the LINKS group
paste the path\filename

My boss would like me to be able to send a link through Access to his outlook inbox for him to open the database on his phone. 
I haven't a clue how to do this.  Does anyone have any direction for me?
