Not sure what you are asking ... I will take a guess
you can use the BeforeUpdate event to test whether a record is added or changed:
If Me.NewRecord Then
This event happens after the record is filled out, just before it saves
Alternately, you can use the BeforeInsert event, which I normally do not use since it happens just as a new record is getting created.
