RE: [MS_AccessPros] RE: accdr losing form filters

Right.  But they are accessing the db through a web page portal that copies the accdr on to their h: drive and most are oblivious to that happening.

Most of my db's aren't run-time because the data is such that most users really care about the integrity of the data and aren't malicious in any way.  The data is also not that sensitive either.  I don't have to worry about Sarbanes oxley, hipppa(sp) or any weird sensitive issues such as personnel data.  Kind of a cushy situation, actually.

I changed this one because it looked like someone tried to enter a password in a field where I grab the network login  - so I was curious as to why that would have happened.  Not too worried…  It's a good thing.

I think I'll just change it  back to the accde since the filtering took away their ability to research what they needed.

Liz

When you use the runtime extension you have to build your own Ribbons. A good source is www.accessribbon.de/en/index.php?Access_-_Ribbons

But since you brought it up, why are you using the runtime extension? That should only be used to test how the users will see your application. Any power user knows that all you have to do is change the extension back to ACCDB and BLAM! everything is exposed.

Pros, is there a way I can have the runtime version of Access still allow filtering?
