Gents,
I stumbled across a little solution to a problem I had a while back and thought I would share it with you all. Some time ago I had a problem printing or sending to a pdf a two page report that had beaucoup sub reports. I think the first page has 42 subreports. I typically got an error saying I had run out of system memory which is really not the problem as I have 16gb in this machine.
I had the problem today, and decided to split it up into 3 pages to solve the problem. That worked, but I was going to send the files to a friend who had Access 2010 (mine is 2007) and see if that version had the same problem I looked at my front end file and it was 50+mb a bit large for emailing so I decided to compact it. Got down to 29mb which was still a wee bit large. Hmmm. I ran the 2 page report and guess what? No memory messages when printing or exporting to pdf. :-)
So, possibly when someone bumps into that memory problem they can try compacting to see if it helps.
