RE: [MS_AccessPros] Query on two joined tables - question

Rod,
This sounds like you need a simple LEFT or RIGHT JOIN. Double-click the join line to open its properties. You can select 3 options, one of which will meet your needs.

This field is also the primary key in the second table. Since there is no corresponding entry ( for the blank field) the records are not displayed in the query. Is there away to show the records even though there is no common link on the record? Or do I need to create a record value in the secondary table that is always present; i.e., the primary key exist but no other data exits in the secondary table (a dummy record). This value could then be assigned in the primary table when the state is unknown.
