I have seen several versions of a Frontend (FE) updater, however, I would like to figure out the best way to complete the following steps:
1. How I can save a file on a shared server that a user would click on once to copy the FE updater database as well as the FE to the users computer.
2. I would like the icon for the FE updater to be put on the users desktop so that is the only icon they will see for the database. This would be what the user clicks on to check the version of the FE and either update it to the correct version then open the FE, or if the user has the current version, open the FE.
I am not an IT person, just someone that has been "blessed" (stuck) with updating numerous databases with no training.
I assume there is a way to do this using VBA, however, I don't have any VBA training either so I would like to see if there is a simple way to do this.
