[MS_AccessPros] Re: Using BrowseTo

Well, this is the first time I've looked at the navigation stuff and I have to admit, I'm not impressed. Microsoft have tried to dumb-down everything and then they end up with a Path Syntax which seems to make no sense and for which there is no assistant/wizard.

I got the thing to work using a couple of changes and a trick. The trick involves telling the macro to ignore an error. So, I added an On Error Goto Next line to the macro (I'm using Access 2013, in German so I might be using the wrong names of the actions.) Then, in your original step, I changed the object name to be your frmMainMenuNew and I changed the path to frmMainMenuNew.NavigationSubform>frmUnitDashboard.NavigationSubform
which does go to the UnitDashboard (but it also still creates an error, which the On error goto next line then suppresses.)

The following page tries to explain what's going on:

http://blogs.office.com/b/microsoft-access/archive/2010/02/24/access-2010-browseto-docmd-and-macro-action.aspx

but didn't to me, at least not in the five minutes I studied it. YMMV.
