Thanks John!

Where exactly are you suggesting to add the ComboSearchNames_AfterUpdate? To the AfterUpdate of the form?

As far as the Requery and Refresh- I have no training in VB, just some experience from a decade ago writing VBScript for websites- so everything I do in Access is pretty piecemeal. I probably copied that code from somewhere else and never realized it wasn't necessary to update the value of the form.
