Is there a known issue concerning DoCmd.TransferDatabase on Win7?
I maintain a fairly large Access app that processes huge text files, imports their data into MSSQL, and extracts data by department to create an MDB for each separate dept. All was well on WinXP (in both A2007 and A2010).
Win7 testing has begun (hey, it's a public agency so at least its happening before XP's 4/14 demise). On Win7, the import runs faster, but the extract keeps coughing with "file in use" and "transfer database was cancelled" errors. If I hit F5 after the error, it runs anyway. (But data is missed in the MDBs that are being created during the errors.)
I have tried making the app into an ACCDB, and while that makes the import run even faster, the export generates even more errors.
And both MDB and ACCDB exhibit no problems on Win XP.
any ideas?
thanks,
Steve Conklin
