RE: [MS_AccessPros] Re: DB opens as Read Only

I ran into this some time ago. Many times, Windows treats anything like a DB copied from a USB drive, or downloaded from the internet, as Read Only to protect the user. I don't totally understand, but it has to do with Windows & Office security and trust relationships.

Opening, saving as a new file, and reopening fixed my issue. Pain to do, but did work.

Go to the user's computer and look at the file properties in Explorer. It could be that the file was somehow set to Read-Only from his computer. That would set the flag for his profile. I've seen stranger things happen.

So it can't be folder permissions. I checked the permissions on the db itself and it is the same as the other dbs.
