Re: Re: [MS_AccessPros] How to get the path where the backend locates with code?

Duane-
I did it! Thanks!
Me.BackendFolderPath = Left(Mid(CurrentDb.TableDefs("tblHotel").Connect, 11), Len(Mid(CurrentDb.TableDefs("tblHotel").Connect, 11)) - 13)
Best Regards,
Kevin

Kevin,

What have you tried in order to pull a part of the string. Did you attempt with Mid() or Len()?

In case you hadn't noticed, I am holding back full solution so that you learn how to do some tasks on your own [????]

Regards,

Duane

Duane,
Yes, I need to get the path for folder as well. Would you please give an example of getting the path for folder? Thanks.
Best Regards,
Kevin

Kevin,

This depends on if the tables are Access or some other source. For Access you can use:

Mid(Currentdb.TableDefs("tblFactories").Connect,11)

This will get the full path and file name. You can use Len(), Left(), and other string function if all you want is the folder.

Duane
