that is a good way of loading the tabbed form. I am finding that the tabbed form is somehow corrupted though. I can add a button but it crashes the database and I have to create a new form. that is why I am considering moving away from the tabbed UI. At this point it is the task of either recreating the tabs and then put everything back on or single forms again.
I am considering also a smaller footprint on the buttons to accommodate all of the buttons in segmented groups on one or two forms. I am also considering list box type of selection to open different objects. I just wanted to hear what others are thinking and doing.

Jim - I've found that my users prefer a tabbed form because it's quicker than opening more forms. Some of my tabbed forms do not load the subform until the individual tab is clicked. That speeds up the initial loading of the main form. You can do this by setting the sub form's SourceObject and the link master/child fields.
