[MS_AccessPros] Stored Queries vs. Record Source

What are the pros/cons of using stored queries for forms and reports vs. writing the sql in the record source property? Historically, with older versions of Access (I still have a 2000 system I'm maintaining), I've always used stored queries. However, that's not necessary any more. As I understand (limited) it:

Fewer stored queries means smaller databases.

Stored queries are easier to manage.

If a record source is a query based on one or more other queries, don't I still need to store the underlying queries?

I think I would still want stored queries where there are multiple forms/reports based on the same.

Please comment on this. What do I have wrong and what else am I missing?

Thanks

Adam
