Re: [MS_AccessPros] Opening Access 2002-2003 database in Access 2013

Jane-

The second lesson in this tutorial:

… implies it's no problem.

But after looking for your error message, I would suspect that your mdb file you've been using in Access 2003 is an even older version.  Was this app originally created in something earlier, like Access 97?  If so, you first need to use 2003 to convert your files to 2000-2003 mdb format.  You should then be able to work with them in 2013.

Hi

I have several databases written in Access 2003 (split FE/BE mdbs with mdw security files). They all open & run fine in Access 2007 & 2010.

However I tried to open them in Access 2013 & I get the message "can't open the database with previous version of the application".

From what I've read through googling I should at least be able to open the the data BE files.

Am I missing some setting or something?

Any helps would be much appreciated.

Jane
