Tables are never meant to be seen by the users. Showing tables is a hacker's dream and some users love to tinker with things they should not be allowed to even see. Showing data is what Forms and Reports are meant to do. That way you can use a combo box to show the text instead of the ID.
If you want to show the data so it looks like it does in a table you can use a Form in Datasheet view or use a SubForm. You can also use a List Box.
