Which version of Access are you using?

The Form Wizard should easily build what you want.  When I choose Tabular, it builds a form with the labels in the form header positioned over the text boxes lined up in the Detail section.

John, would setting the column width property in the SubForm's OnCurrent property eliminate your user concerns about datasheets?  

The reason I am asking is that I am having great difficulty in changing the many subforms I have to be continuous forms.  For some reason, when I select the Tabular Layout, the field labels and field text boxes all end up in one single row, instead of the labels going into the form header.

I am having difficulty understanding how to work with Access "layouts" and the books I have are pretty sparse on that topic.
