Re: [MS_AccessPros] lost password

And this will probably work in the 32-bit version for a long time to come since MS has never really made any VBA editor changes since 2000 (?) when they split the editor out from the Access shell.

So John et. al, he used the hex editor after all and it wasn't that bad.  Worked like a charm.  THANKS!

Fail.  It didn't let us downgrade and didn't like just the .mdb extension.  He's hoping that a nap will yield a memory.

Personally, I don't set vba passwords for those kinds of reasons.  That, and what if I were to croak?  I don't want to put my company in such a bind to not get at my code.

Thanks John.  Hex is scary to me so we've been looking at others.  Unfortunately the corporate websense keeps locking us out of download sites, but we're now trying this:

It isn't finding the accdb so we're going to try to save it as a earlier version mdb and see if we can hack the password on that copy of it.

Keeping you posted…

Liz-

Here's a hack for an Excel VBA project, but it might also work for Access.

Pros,

A colleague has forgotten his password to the code in his database, and we're wondering if/how it can be recovered.  Ideas anyone?
