Re: [MS_AccessPros] Two Field AutoSequence

Well, that column labeled SEQUENCE should have been labeled ProjectNumber
Sorry

I have not created any records yet because I was hoping to have the auto sequencing working before I added any records.  However, they would be like the following:

ProjectID SampleGroupID Sequence ProjectDescription
1                1                        1              blah, blah, blah
2                1                        2              blah, blah, blah
3                1                        3              blah, blah, blah
4                2                        1              blah blah
5                2                        2              blah blah
6                3                        1              blah blah
7                3                        2              blah blah
8                3                        3              blah blah
9                3                        4              blah blah

David,

Can you provide some sample records? This will probably require some code in a form.

Subject: [MS_AccessPros] Two Field AutoSequence

I have a Projects table with fields of ProjectID, SampleGroupID and ProjectNumber (plus other fields inconsequential to this question).  The SampleGroupID and ProjectNumber constitute a two field, unique index.  I want the ProjectNumber field to be an autosequence field but I want the sequence numbers to start at ONE for each value in SampleGroupID.

Can you help me with this?
