[MS_AccessPros] Total from transaction table in form of master table, how do I do it?

I have a master table of drawings and a transaction table of cuts made from each drawing (I have a CNC router that I use to cut wooden pieces for sofa frames).  I also have a form that displays the selected (using a combo box) master record for a given drawing.

In the said form, I want to add a text box that shows how many cuts I have made to date for that selected drawing.  Total the quantity.  Once I get that I can multiply result by cost in master table to get total revenue to date as well in another text box.

I know I have to write VBA code to define the table to go to (transactions) and run an SQL statement to get the total I need and then display it in the box.

I am good writing reports and using SQL, but I have not had much experience with coding.  I am not sure of what commands/statements to use and where to place them.

Can you help advise me how to get this done?   I greatly appreciate it!
