Is there anything in the data that creates a new page or is this somewhat random? Is the detail section of the report always the same height or can it grow?

Hello All
I need to create report where each row in details section must have a serial row number.
I can do this by creating a textbox with control source =1 and assigning Running Sum over "group" or "over all".
The catch is that I want to create a running serial number that starts with 1 on each page of the report.
Any suggestions?
