Thanks for the suggestions. There are still some libraries and used book stores in the Sacramento area that I haven't visited yet. I will also use the "Look Inside" feature of Amazon to look at more books.
If I can find the right book, I will buy a newer version of Access to go with the book. Russ

That's a toughie. Microsoft Access is a very complex product, so those of us who have written books about it find it difficult to be thorough within the page limits set by publishers. The market won't let publishers charge more than $50 or $60 for a book, so the publishers often set strict page limits - often less than 1000 pages. I was lucky with my 2007 book - the publisher let me go to nearly 1500 pages. But even at that, quite a number of "bonus" chapters ended up on the companion CD.
This complexity and page limit often results in the usage of smaller and smaller typeface to get more on a page.
I would normally recommend that you go to a "bricks and mortar" bookstore to browse available titles, but you can't do that (except maybe in a used bookstore) because Access 2007 is two releases and five years ago. The mainstream book chains aren't carrying 2007 books anymore - they're "out of date" as far as they're concerned!
Try using Amazon.com to look for titles. Many of the titles there have a "Look Inside" feature that you can use to look at some sample pages to decide if the content will be helpful to you and the typeface big enough. One title that comes to mind that might be good for a beginner is Microsoft Office Access 2007 Step-by-Step. It's available on Amazon and has the Look Inside feature.
(My book also has this feature, but the typeface is likely too small for you.)

Access 2007: The Missing Manual has print that is too small for my aging eyes and the pictures are minuscule. It also has a lot of material that is in white type against a gray background.
Access 2007: All-in-One Desk Reference for Dummies has all of the defects of the Missing manual, plus it is badly organized.
Access 2007 for Starters has large enough type, but it has very limited information.
Stores that sell software books do not sell 2007 versions, and stores that sell used books do not sell computer books. I would appreciate any pointers to Access 2007 books with reasonably large print. Thanks. Russ Farris
