You can't.  The Unload event fires whenever the form is being closed - with a DoCmd.Close or by clicking the X.

When I add the MsgBox to the Unload event procedure is working however is also working when the cmdClose command is clicked then:

How do can I differentiate when the form closes with the X click vs the cmdClose? 


Please see my response to Bill perhaps the form is corrupted.
