RE: [MS_AccessPros] Move Data to another Table

4600 records is NOT large. There are undoubtedly other factors behind the slow down.

Appropriate indexing on the tables in this database might be the most effective thing you can do. Have you properly indexed the fields on which searches are conducted?

How are searches done?

Are any other functions showing slow performance?

Subject: [MS_AccessPros] Move Data to another Table

I have a split database. The backend is on a server and everyone copies the frontend to their local hard drive.

The main data table has 4600 records in it with at least 100 being added each month.

When the database is queried, it is slow because it is searching all the records.

Some of the records are "closed" are there for reference only.

Would it be wise to take those records out the DataTable 1 and put them in a new table just in case someone needs to see them at a later date?

Looking for suggestions,

Thank you,
Celeste
