This particular scanner is a HP Desktop 1051 using a TWAIN driver and it is connected directly to my desktop via USB. One the system goes live it would be any TWAIN Scanner . So I will need to be able to fill my cmdScanner combo box with whatever scanner is installed on the machine. Here is the link to scanner's user manual.

Hi Art,
I did not look at the file with your screen shot of the form. More important, what is your scanner Make and Model, and how is it connected? And, if you can find it, where is a link to its documentation? thanks

That is exactly what I want to do. I am currently working on a document management System for Access and I have a form called frmScan and on the form is a cmdScan button that I need to activate the scanner and then scan it in. It will be kept as an external file. I will upload the screen to the needs assistance folder to give yo a better idea of what I am after.

Hi Art,that depends on your scanner ... what happens to the files that are scanned. Where do they go?
As for pulling 'into' Access, I highly recommend you keep it stored as an external file -- perhaps just move and rename it.respectfully,

I see how that would work and I implemented into my project and it works fine. But now I need to be able to do the same thing but bring the document in from a scanner. Any ideas?

hi Art,here you go :)
How To Display PDFs In A Form
- by Programming (Steve Bishop)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeyoRBTAa9I
once you add Web Browser Control, which can display any file accessible not just file on the net, click on the Base URL property and then the Expression Builder and select the source, which can be a calculated field in the RecordSource. This sets the Control Source for the Web Browser and links it to your form
This example is to also allow the user to browse to a file to show but you may not need that part.

Is there a way to display a PDF file within access. Maybe a control or something? If possible, how would I implement it?
