Thanks again John,
The detail section is above the page footer. "Force New Page" is 'None' and "New Row" is 'None'.

Thanks for the help John.
"What are the settings for the Force New Page and New Row?" - Each is showing 'None'.
"Column properties of the Report Footer? " - I cannot find an entry for 'Column Properties".
"And what are those settings for the section just before the Report Footer?" The section before the Report Footer is the Page Footer which is not used.
Cheers.

I am using Access 2013. I have a two column report and I need to show
the count of records at the end. If I put the count in the report
footer the total appears at the end of a column on the final page if
the first column on the page is not full. If the report runs to use
the secong column the total appears on a new page by itself.
What have I done wrong?
Many thanks,
Robin Chapple
