OK, so I decided that for my learning purposes and to evaluate user interface, that I would add a command button and create the template detail records only after the button is clicked. It should have been easy but I made a couple of mistakes that took me a long time to find. The biggest problem was that I learned that I need to save the main form record as the first step in the OnClick event. After I got that done I was able to get it to work. I think I will leave it this way as it seems more user friendly.
So thank you so very, very much. I will have multiple other questions but let's close this thread! Thank you for your patience.

Have you tried the highest rated email app?
With 4.5 stars in iTunes, the Yahoo Mail app is the highest rated email app on the market. What are you waiting for? Now you can access all your inboxes (Gmail, Outlook, AOL and more) in one place. Never delete an email again with 1000GB of free cloud storage.
